EMI says Apple will change iTunes pricing

Posted in: Multimedia, iPod

iTunesEMI Group boss Alain Levy said that he believed Jobs would introduce multiple price points for iTunes music within the next year. Apple officials were unavailable for comment. If Levy is correct, the new pricing scheme would mark a turnaround for Jobs, who has argued that a buck a song was an easy to understand proposition for consumers and a victory for the music business.

From my point of view it is normal that popular artists get more money than the less popular. But from the other hand, all CD mprices are practically the same, so why should they change the individual track pricing?

Customers are not going to like it. We are all used to the pricing system and I bet the iTunes support staff is going to get a lot of questions. If this ever happens that is.
